ECT was engaged as a sub-contractor of STUDIO ING. G. PIETRANGELI S.r.l. for preparation of Preliminary Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Development of a Preliminary Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) and development of a Preliminary Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for Desivojce. The consulting services also included expertise in the decision making of dam site selection.

  1. Development of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Report for National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) 2025 – 2030

ECT was engaged to provide the conduction of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Report for the NECP document under preparation, working closely with stakeholders through a participatory process.

  1. Environmental and Social Management Activities for 105 MW wind park EBRD and IFI financed project

The project was implemented in accordance with the EBRD E&S Performance Requirements. The focus was to ensure that all E&S requirements set by EBRD were met through continuous monitoring, coordination, and reporting. Activities included the coordination of the E&S team, oversight of subcontractors’ environmental and social performance, and regular reporting on compliance with the ESAP.

  1. Development of a Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plan in Kosovo

The assignment involved developing a Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plan in Kosovo. Key activities included overseeing the Environmental and Social (E&S) aspects, supporting the drafting of environmental strategies, participating in capacity-building programs and workshops with stakeholders, managing the stakeholder engagement plan, and ensuring overall E&S management throughout the project.

  1. Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for KEK ash dump remediation project

This project involved preparing and coordinating an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study in collaboration with local experts, based on the technical design outcomes. Key activities included conducting site visits, facilitating stakeholder meetings, engaging with relevant institutions, and performing desk reviews to ensure comprehensive consultation with all stakeholders during the ESIA development.

  1. Green City Action Plan (GCAP)

The Methodology of GCAP designed by EBRD aims to guide a city through the five main steps of developing and implementing a GCAP – from establishing a Green City Baseline, developing a vision, preparing the GCAP, implementing the actions and reviewing progress. The overall objective of a typical GCAP assignment is to apply the Methodology and assist a city to develop a Green City Action Plan that is signed off by the City Council.

  1. Reconstruction of Termokos Heat Exchanger Station and installation of new district heating substations

The project includes development of PA-ESMP and overview and monitoring of ESHS in project area and its subcomponents. Overall, the project aims in ensuring compliance with international Environmental, Social, Health and Safety (ESHS) standards (including issues of sexual exploitation and abuse and gender-based violence).

  1. Support Strengthening Capacities for Intermunicipal Cooperation in the Solid Waste Management Sector in Kosovo

The project aim is to support the municipalities in negotiation process by couching and providing the best and suitable model in setting up the intermunicipal cooperation in the field of integrated solid waste management towards circular economy. Main activities include research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement and other activities for development of capacity building plan and activities for intermunicipal cooperation in the field of integrated waste management.

  1. Environmental and Social Capacity Building Program – Scoping phase Kosovo

The EBRD has provided a sovereign loan to the Republic of Kosovo to be on-lent and/or granted, as appropriate, to public service providers (publicly owned enterprises (POE) and municipal service companies, including private providers) affected by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The Project falls under Window 2 of the Bank’s Vital Infrastructure Support Programme, Solidarity Package 2.0. In this context, the EBRD appointed ECT as Environmental and Social (E&S) Consultant to implement a capacity building program to ensure a smooth Project implementation in line with PR2, PR4 and PR9.
